Overview
CHALET EIGER was opened in 2006 and takes its name from one of the three famous alpine peaks in central Switzerland. These peaks are mirrored by three volcanic hills on the southern shores of Lake Taupo.
Peter and Nina took over the Lodge in April 2017 after many years of tife in the Public and ICT sectors in Wellington & Auckland. By the way, there are two other members of staff (Rufus the dog & Floyd the cat) who cannot always control their excitement when meeting guests so if you would rather not meet them or have any allergies, please let us know in advance and we will ensure they are kept “under the stairs”. We provide a relaxed, informal environment in which our guests can feel at home, we try to meet most of your needs, we actively engage with our guests and are keen to learn of their own environment as we share ours. We especially enjoy recommending to our guests, New Zealand wineries!

What is included?
Room rates include a full country breakfast, welcome platter, complimentary minibar, lodge facilities and return Taupō Airport transfers.
Are rates GST inclusive?
Yes. All rates include 15% GST and are in NZD.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge.
What are the check-in/check-out times?
Check-in: 2pm. Check-out: 11am. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability.
Is smoking allowed?
No smoking or vaping is permitted inside. Smoking and vaping are allowed outside in the designated area.
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not permitted.
What is the payment policy?
A credit card is required to confirm the booking. Full payment is required before departure. Visa, Mastercard and direct deposit are accepted. Card surcharges may apply.
What is the cancellation policy?
Within 14 days: 25% cancellation fee.
Within 7 days: 100% cancellation fee.
No refunds for no-shows, unused nights/services, or travel disruptions.
Travel insurance is recommended.
Are dietary requirements catered for?
Yes. Please advise us of any dietary requirements when booking.
What are the meal times?
Breakfast: 7:30am–10am.
Dinner: From 7pm.
Pre-dinner drinks and canapés: From 6:30pm when dining at the lodge.
Is there a gym?
Yes, a small exercise room with a treadmill, rowing machine and weights.
Is parking available?
Yes, ample guest parking and a carport are available.
Can I purchase a gift certificate?
Yes. Customized gift certificates and packages are available.
