Collingwood Holiday Park is a hidden gem. Tucked away in the rural location of Collingwood, Golden Bay, we offer you space for your Motorhome, Caravan, Tent or a bed if you need a cabin. We are situated on the waterfront of the Aorere River that meets the ocean mouth so you can sit and enjoy watching the tidal waters flowing in and out and the birdlife that resides. Collingwood has a petrol station, a tavern and bistro, a supermarket and a cafe. If you are visiting to join The Farewell Spit Tours for the day, then you will be glad to know that we are located just a short stroll away from their departure location. We are lucky to be surrounded by a community of volunteers that run the fire station and St John ambulance- so you know you are in good hands when you visit! Locals leave the hustle and bustle of city life on the other side of the Takaka Hill. We enjoy a slower, more relaxed way of life that compliments people who also enjoy these qualities.

We are located in the unique and beautiful Golden Bay. Collingwood Holiday Park is the perfect base to explore the region, staying just one night, won't be enough.

Collingwood Holiday Park is a great example of an authentic rustic Kiwi family experience. Collingwood is a quiet gold rush town and is Golden Bay's northernmost settlement. Situated between the sea and Ruataniwha Inlet, the town consists mainly of one street containing a general store, cafes and galleries, a hairdresser, a pub and a small museum. The town is a base for those interested in the Farewell Spit tours and the Heaphy Track. Also worth seeing are the Devil's Boots and Te Anaroa Caves and the Wild and wonderful Wharariki Beach and seal colony.

Popular with Whitebaiters, fisherman, hikers and mountain bikers as we are handy to the Heaphy track, Aorere Gold field mountain bike tracks, Milnthorpe Park walks and heaps of others other walks, tramps or rides.

We offer friendly, comfortable surroundings on the front door to Kahurangi National Park, Heaphy Track & Farewell Spit in the beautiful Golden Bay. It is the closest Camp to the Bainham start of the Heaphy Track. Enquire about our cabins, powered and non-powered sites.

Terms & conditions if your plans change

Our office hours are our available check in hours. If you are needing outside of our standard hours this needs to be confirmed with management prior to arrival. Management has the right to charge an additional $30 for each booking met outside of office hours.

Prices charged are non-negotiable and management have final say on acceptance of your booking.

We prefer everybody to get a good night sleep so enforce a quiet time of 10pm to 7am where music needs to be off and voices kept to a reasonable level.
We expect all guests to be responsible for their own belongings, respectful of other peoples belongings and honest in the way you conduct yourself.
Animals are not allowed in the park from December 20th to February the 10th. At other times of the year animals are allowed by agreement with management. Never in cabins, kitchens, ablutions or vehicles outside of cabins.
